Last month we traveled to Austin, Texas to participate in #SWTOUR at Bioware's studio. During this time we were able to catch up with Damion Schubert and have a chat with him. In this episode we hit on companion characters, crafting and much more.

Nice episode guys!
Damion seems to answer in an honest way, not trying to please everybody. I always get the feeling with him like:"This guy knows his stuff."

I'm glad they said that they want the gear form crafting to be a viable option. I hated spending hours getting the mats and crafting the items just to run to a vendor when my bag was full and off load everything.

Great interview guys!

Really glad that flashpoints are at least related to your main story and not just something completely random that you do. But I'm not sure how I feel about having companions in flashpoints, the only way that i can see it working is if they had something like they had in Dragon Age where you can set the traits of the AI like to be the main healer, tank, or dps.

lol that clip made we want to watch the original movies...but yeah crew skills, its a great idea and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I would've gone with: <Darth Vader> "I see you've constructed a new lightsaber. Now your skills are complete." over Yoda cooking. :P
(possible misquotation from memory)

Looking back at the KotORs, "useless" companions were one thing that always bugged me. I see the logic of this and love it.

Nice to see Open Bounty back on the radar. I wish the devs would release some more stuff on Crew Skills, since I'm very interested in the crafting aspect of the game. However, the info that Damion Schubert gave on companions et al was good. As the game gets closer to launch we're not hearing the dreaded, "We can't talk about that right now" line much anymore, which is a welcome change. The devs are probably getting as sick of saying it as we are of hearing it.
