2 out of 5 stars

Seriously, I was disappointed in the lack of even general knowledge that Scott and Dills had of SWTOR. They continually talk about the game as if it's in early development. It's sad because they have such a large listener base, that they do a disservice by presenting information about the game without doing any research into how old it is or what it actually does. They would help themselves greatly by going to the site and looking over everything.

I know it's only the first podcast, so I can hope that they are really just getting up to speed and introducing TOR to their followers, but it almost seems like they are jumping in 3 years late.

Ya.. you do bring up some very valid points there. I really think they need to fill that 3rd chair with a permanent person, and one who's been following the game for as long as many of us have. This way they can step in and clear up misconceptions about various things.

Sadly I don't think they'll have the time themselves to research all the info they'll need to get a better grasp on things as well... Scott does a ton of casts now, as well as running the whole Frogpants network, and Dills has his own podcasts/career he's got going as well.

They really need that 3rd chair to be a knowledgable person.

It sounds like The Instance when it was before adding RandyDeluxe permanently. High on goofy, low on fundamental knowledge of the game. But I think everyone is dead on that they need a "smart" 3rd. Once they have that they'll probably hit their stride like they did with the original show. But on the flip side, it might be tough to do the same show, one covering World of Warcraft, the other The Old Republic.

I'd still hold out hope for Scott and Dills to pull it around though.

I'm sure they will in time.. lets hope.. get up to par with the WoW podcast. But sadly, they're already way behind the ball. There are numerous podcasts out there already covering the game in far greater degree's than I think they can right now.

What with MER, CRR, TORWars, Sunny's Diner, all those casts over on Bootleg Radio... etc etc.. there's a deluge of great content out there for everyone. All these casts are filled with folks who have followed the game for a long long time, and have diverse opinions on whats going into the game, yet they all want to play it.

Like I said... they really need that 3rd knowledgable person on board. Or perhaps.. just scrap the content idea.. and leave the AIE TOR content over in the AIE podcast (which is a great podcast even if your not part of the guild... which I'm not).

Just listened to the whole thing and I gotta say, I enjoyed it more than a lot of podcasts about TOR out there right now. Sure they're not caught up on every bit of information, but they say so repeatedly throughout the episode that they have to do some more research. Having a knowledgeable third person would be a good addition and since they will rotate it, perfect chance for someone to hop on to give that information.

It's mainly just really friendly and easy to listen to, unlike other casts out there that have the same basic formula of news>light discussion>defending TOR against other MMO's (mainly WoW, the punching bag)> the end.

It's tough. It was their first podcast and they had a LOT to live up to. One thing I don't like is the pandering reviews on itunes saying "Best SWTOR Podcast!" before an episode was even out.

That being said, the potential is enormous. I'm with the consensus that they need a very knowledgeable TOR guy in that third seat to help guide them through some of the stuff. They're not trying to be the Diner. They're actually trying to give information, which means they're way behind the ball at this point.

Still, enormous potential and a rabid dedicated audience. I'll keep listening.

Agreed!! Ill revisit my judgement after 5 episodes or so. I DO hope they get it in gear, cause I do enjoy them as hosts normally. An I have no ill wishes toward them, but it irks me a little to see the game misrepresented to such a large audience.
