i want vanity pets, i collect them. it's kind of like an achievement for me, one more aspect of the game i enjoy, like exploration and doing 3000 quests to get a title, collecting titles. They are something i enjoy, what i don't enjoy about them is having to pay through the butt on the AH to get the rare ones

Concerning the topic, I can't imagine an MMO without vanity pets. We're talking about Star Wars too here. There are SO many little critters and droids that can/could be used as vanity pets and I think that would be such a wasted opportunity if they let that one slip by.

I dunno. I'd rather see useful "pets" than vanity ones. We know your going to have companion droids so why can't we have companion pets like the dog in dragon age. I think vanity pets are silly though. unless they can actually do something. but then they wouldn't be vanity

Here, here. I was a mount and vanity pet WHORE in WoW. All the way up until I took a break (after completing the majority of the cataclysm expansion, very disappointing)...and then decidedly quit for good (the moment I heard about TOR's release getting closer) I was working on getting all the Achievements for them. Honestly, it was more because I was bored and there was nothing better to do...but still lol. I enjoyed it there so I think I'd enjoy it anywhere else.

Anyways, can you target the vanity pets in other MMOs during PvP? I thought you had to actually click on them.

Firstly thanks for your efforts Alan and gratz to Kondorhawkx !

About vanity pets... well I gotta say I love them dearly. I collected many of them and skilled up engineering only for a pet on several chars. I even bought the Pandaren Monk because he's just plain awesome. :shock:

I absolutely hope we'll get those, there are several types of droids or critters you could have as a vanity pet. Imagine a Chiss IA with an Ysalamir, that would be awesome.

And that's the fun thing in PvP ^^ It was hilarious in WoW to not see a rogue in stealth but his vanity pet right beside him. :lol:

Non-Combat pets should always be around. They're the unsung heroes of the gaming world. They are the characters who would chronicle your tale and relay it to the world if it were a true one. They're the C3-P0, Alfred the Butler, and Neville Longbottom's (yes I made a Harry Potter reference but I also I made a Star Wars and Batman reference ) of the world. Without them there would be no one to share the tales of our epic journeys in taverns across the planes of existence. Who would tell how we slew the white dragon in Icewind Dale or how we fought off the hordes of goblins in mines of Moria?
