I just looked at the website. I really like the "personal story" and "dynamic events" game systems. And the game not having a monthly subscription, I definitely am considering getting it, especially if there is a group from this community who will be playing and that I can play with.

I will most def be playing. I believe Animus is sold also. I play late at night normally (11pm est til whenever) so if anyone gets it, we can def look into getting a guild together. I will look into this more in the near future.

So on the topic of GW2, I'd like to get a feel for which professions seem to draw you in. Being there are no standard archetypes (ie Tanks or Healers) it all comes down to preference in playstyle.
Also if you weren't aware, there are 8 Professions and only 5 character slots per server.
I personally want to only have only 1 melee dominant character (almost all have a form of ranged, but some are better at melee, ie Warriors, Thiefs, Guardians) and I'm thinking the Thief. Fast, stealthy and deadly at close range. The other 2 that I'm sure of is the Necromancer and the Ranger.
I'd like to hear your choices :D!

When jumping into new games, I like to familiarize myself by playing a familiar character. From what I can tell, the gunslinger in SWTOR ( to make a comparison) is similar to the ranger. If I get the game, I will probably play ranger first so I can get familiar with the mechanics of the game while using a character type I am already used to.

I'm pretty MMO Agnostic as long as the pvp is good, and it looks very well done in GW2. Looking forward to it, as are several folks from my current wow guild. If your not big on PVP though I doubt there will be enough content to hold you for much longer than a few months at most. Sidekicking and the cross server pollination will certainly prevent the issues that swtor is currently having. So many games so little time. And Panda's, they have pandas right?

Like I said earlier, I'm probably going to get the game. But if for anything just to break up my MMO playing. I used to use wow but it got too expensive. I like to have variety of games available to me, because I tend to get over zealous with games and get burned out.

If your still on the fence about this game, go down this list. Some pretty good things.

I mainly like the part about you don't have to worry about kill stealing. If your fighting a mob and some random dude comes up and starts hitting the same mob, you both get loot and XP.
