Hi MER community. I'm curious whether or not anybody else out there watches the Clone Wars series. I've followed the series since episode 1 and I have a very love hate relationship with it. I think in general it does a good job laying out the clone wars. I think my favorite part about it is that it doesn't shy away from the "kill-shot." We see many different death scenes among Jedi and clones, and one of my biggest fears when they started the show was that we'd have to endure toned down action to cater to the younger audience. But I'd say in general the action is top notch.

Anyway I have two main questions, which are my primary sources of contention with the series:

1) How do you think they will deal with the Ahsoka Tano story so that it makes sense? (Feel free to be as brutal as you want, though I would appreciate it if you have actually thought through the situation and developed a reasonable/interesting theory)

2) Are any of you able to reconcile the glaring continuity disruptions that have been laid down by this show. I won't list them all but to name a few:
-The total conversion of Mandalore from a warrior planet to a peace loving metropolis.
-Most recently the addition to the show of Greedo as a character. He's supposed to be a child living in hiding during this time.

If anybody has figured out a way by which Leland Chee and George Lucas might remedy this, let me know.

I watch and I have to say I like it, but only as a distraction. I do enjoy the Clone Trooper stories. I even noticed that the troopers are handling the big guns like the troopers in TOR. Must be to build anticipation for the game release.
As for Greedo, I am not sure what the EU says, but I know that in EP 1 a scene was cut in which Ani and Greedo were having a tussle. I imagine that this scene meant that Greedo is assumed to be as old as Anakin, although I have no idea about the Rodian Lifespan.
As for Asokah, I bet they never show her death scene. They'll just show her going off on her first solo mission as a Jedi prior to Order 66 then fade to black.

The reworked canon for that scene says that the little rodian for episode one was greedo's father, Greedo the Elder. It's plausible that this Greedo is also Greedo the Elder, but I think Greedo the Elder was also supposed to be on Rodia at this time. It seems to me like just another blatant disregard for existing canon. It really bugs me that they keep doing this because there's a lot of really excellent content in the EU that already exists. Like the Republic Commando series by Karen Travis. It was my favorite Star Wars series, but they actually discontinued it, because George wanted to go down a different road with the show...most unfortunate.

I actually only watched the "Clone Wars" movie recently, with my daughter after we watched the Star Wars 6 movies. I have never watched an episode of the Clone Wars series, but I really want to some day! I probably need to buy/rent the first season and see where it goes from there.

All I can say is that in my humble opinion they get better with time. If you watch the first season and feel sort of betrayed, don't give up hope. The first season is weirdly repetitive, but they get better in season 2, and season 3 has been great thus far.

With the audiance the show is aimed at you can't really blame them for messing up the canon. I mean if your ten all your thinking is "OMG I LOVE STAR WARS WHOS THAT OMG" and you probably don't know all the background details. I mean thats how i felt when i was watching them haha. So yea they make some mistakes here and there but in the end its still a good show.

I have a voracious appetite for all things Star Wars, so yes I watch. I don't really care for Ahsoka Tano, or Assaji Ventriss. However, the show is good for a weekly fix and I love Tom Kane's work. You can see my post about meeting him in another section of the forums.

Just a little update. For those of you who watch the show and love the EU like I do, fan favorite Quinlan Vos is coming to the Clone Wars this week. Assuming they do him justice everybody should tune in to see this badass mofo in action. Seriously...he rocks...

Course it'll probably damage the canon but as lightnight said:

With Ahsoka, it comes down to their plans for the series. If they plan a follow up they'll either keep her alive for that or leave it ambiguous. Sort of like they finally did with Asajj. I don't harbour ill will towards her though, she's an Ok character when you consider her in context of the series. Would I want a major movie with her as protagonist? No.
