Forum Rules of Conduct

Forum Rules of Conduct

By registering at the Mos Eisley Radio Forum you agree to abide by the following rules, and adhere to and respect the Moderators and Administrators who enforce them.

Most importantly, remember that we want this to be a civil and friendly place to visit. Please treat others with respect and common courtesy.

1. Problem Behavior
Members will avoid the following list of behaviors.

Two-Way Conversations. Utilize Private Messages (PM) for such interactions.

Flame Wars: when a thread becomes too heated and/or a discussion loses all objectivity and dissolves into hurling insults.

Obscenity: If you think it could be offensive, then DON'T SAY IT.

Criticism of a Person.

Spam: intentional, unsolicited advertisements.

No Redeeming Value: any post that exists to "air dirty laundry" or immature, obnoxious behavior that makes no point with any logic, value, or coherence.

Name Calling: Simply put, don't call people names. Rude comments of any sort directed at another member are not allowed, whether they be obvious or indirect and inferred.

Bad Netiquette: intentionally posting in a manner that is considered rude on the net. This includes everything from posting messages in extra large fonts, all caps, and all bold. All of this is considered to be rude, online; essentially it is like shouting at someone instead of simply talking to them.

Consequences: Editing, Merging, Locking, and Deleting, of posts and threads. They are considered in that order, depending on the ability to salvage the existence of a thread or particular post. These are at the moderators discretion. Merging takes existing threads on the same topic and puts them all into one.

Discipline and control are the Administrator's and Moderator's responsibility. If you see posts which are offensive to you, please report the post by sending a private message (PM) to Zach, Evan or Alan; do not take matters into your own hands.

2. Predatory Behavior
Mos Eisley Radio reserves the right to take action when a member uses the MER Forum as the basis to form relationships and familiarity with other members in order to attempt inappropriate interaction outside of the MER Forum (e.g. email, instant messaging, other chat rooms, etc).

3. MEMBER BANNING
If a Forum Member wantonly and intentionally engages in behavior that is inappropriate as part of the above rules, he or she will receive a warning about their behavior. They will be banned from accessing the MER Forum when deemed necessary. Inappropriate behavior as mentioned above is defined as willing, unrepentant, unchanging violation of any of the above rules.

4. HARASSING MODERATORS
If you do this... you are gone instantly.

Evidence of moderators being harassed, questioned, or judged in this way, will result in the perpetrator(s) being banned. No questions asked, no "three strikes and you're out.".

5. DUPLICATE ACCOUNTS
Due to the sheer size of this message board, each user is allowed only 1 account. Please do not create additional names. It helps keep our costs down and our speed up.

6. RULE 34
Shall not be invoked on this forum. See, I told you it was here.

The MER leadership reserve the right to edit these rules at any time. Any and all changes will be made public knowledge before they are enforced.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

We have several BioWare employees that frequent our forums. In fact, when a "talent calculator" was put on the forums earlier today (9/8/11), a BioWare employee was browsing our forums. We have a great relationship with BW and want to keep it that way.

If you think for a second that something could be a leak, DON'T POST IT!

If you have a question about if something is a leak or not, please PM me and I will be glad to tell you if your topic/post is ok or not.

PLEASE help us keep this forum free of leaks.
