First and foremost, I want to thank every single one of you that has joined us over the past couple of months. It's been beyond fantastic to see how quickly these forums have grown recently. I love that there is so much active conversation going on about all aspects of The Old Republic.
That said, up until this point we haven't established an official forum stance on posting or linking to leaked information. I know we're all aware of the various collection of sites out there that regularly offer up leaked information from the current round of Game Testing. However, at this point we tend to defer to Bioware's official Game Testing agreement, the most relevant pieces of which can be found below...
Official Forums wrote:We have seen many questions about the Game Testing Agreement and we want to clarify a few things.
Per the Game Testing Agreement, a user can state there is a Game Testing Program.
Per the Game Testing Agreement, when someone is selected for testing, they can disclose the fact that they are a member of the Game Testing Program.
That is the extent of it and anything else would be a violation of the Game Testing Agreement. Users that are found to post or even repost confidential materials (such as invitations, Game Tester Portal, etc) will be permanently removed from the Game Testing Program and subject to discipline up to and including permanent removal from the service. This is not limited to screenshots of the game but taking "screen grabs" or sharing of confidential documentation and materials.
The last thing we want to do is create a police state over the content of the forums. Outside of a bad run of porn posts from Russia, Zach and I have had to do basically ZERO moderation, and I can't thank everyone enough for promoting such an awesome community. I hope this will continue as the forums grow more and more as we near launch of SWTOR.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, feel free to PM Zach or I. Thanks again and may the force be with each and every one of you.
