We are expecting the #SWTOR servers to be available again at 6:00PM CDT (12:00AM BST, 1:00AM CEST, 9:00AM AEST).

Here is further clarification.

UPDATE: 10:53AM CDT

During last night's maintenance, some areas of the game were reverted to pre-Game Update 1.2 status. Some areas were 'missing' and characters that were in those areas would be unavailable. We took the live servers offline at approx 9:30AM CDT (Austin time).

Our server and deployment teams are now working to rebuild assets for the live servers, but this is unfortunately not a quick process. We currently estimate that our downtime could be up to eight hours, but that time may be extended.

We are expecting the servers to be available again at 6:00PM CDT (April 14th, 12:00AM BST, 1:00AM CEST, 9:00AM AEST). We'll update you with information in this thread when we have it.

We sincerely apologize for the unexpected downtime today. We’ll update you with more details later.

Not quite sure it's a marking fail. Sounds like a code versioning fail. With a patch this size, something's bound to happen. An accident, this was.

Thankfully, we're getting a free day for it.

Servers should be back up by 7PM EST.

That's 5pm real time! (Mountain time). That's shortly after I get home from work on the Fridays that I work (like today )

Sweeeeet, hope they fix whatever needed fixing... and yes it was a coding fail - however it does fall under marketing fail as well because it was a highly hyped patch update and lots of people logged back in for it, etc, and it just wasn't quite ready yet... but yes these things happen.

If a programmer ever tells you "That's an easy fix" just scoff and walk away. "Easy" problems are very rarely that when it comes to programming. Sure the fix might be just adding or removing a ; from the end of a line to make it work - but the tough part is finding it.

The marketing fail is this:

We all know that the patch for THE patch that requires this new patch is a coding issue. That is the core issue, but when you look at it as a whole the timing is quite horrible.

They announced yesterday afternoon all this FREE stuff. Free pet, free month, free week for returning players and now that have a HUGE glitch which requires the servers to go down in the middle of the day for 8 hours. That timing is quite poor.

If they had these issues and then came out with all the free stuff it would have been a much more favorable scenario.

Then they would have swooped in as heroes and the marketing of "thanks for all your loyalty and patience" would have had a bit more weight to it.

I'm just a bit nervous about our guild bank being restored to what it was last night when I logged off. To log in this morning and look around the "guild bank" area and they were literally GONE made me a bit sick to my stomach. The guild bank was a culmination of hours and hours of game time to raise fund, collect donations, organize and sacrifice of the part of the donors.

I guess we will see in approximately 4 hours if we got everything back.

Speaking of - where is the guild bank area to access it? I just want to look at it in all its glory, not really do anything yet. Just want to see.
