I think the fairest "Deserter" debuff would be:
1. Debuff that stacks. Last 60 mins and is refreshed with every tick.
1st Offense: 15 min WZ ban
2nd: 45 min WZ ban.
3rd: 1 hour server ban.
At which point, logging on after would resume what's left of Debuff. If you lose subs you lose subs. While yes it's a business, if you allow a cancer like Deserters stick around without reprimand, you'll have people leaving anyways because they never get fair play time, it's always a massacre.

Sunny, I have seen Ivory too! I'm a Smuggler, and one day for like 5 minutes, Akavi Spar vanished. In her place was Ivory. Also, Risha was not in the engine room as my companion, but was instead back in the cargo bay where she started, Bowdaar was GONE, and I beleive Corso was standing by the holoterminal. I don't know what happened, and it's never happened since, but it was creepy. Your story about Ivory made me laugh as I remembered this.

One time, Risha appeared on my ship in two places! She was in the engine room and in the cargo hold with Guss. I have had Akaavi disappear before, but never replaced by Ivory. He is in a different room.

So there are my funny smuggler companion moments.
