MER Episode 58: Full Disclosure

Zach and Evan return to form joined this week by not one, but two special guests! Sunny and Radicool from Sunny’s Diner join the fray for this landmark episode where the crew can finally break their silence on beta impressions. With the NDA having dropped, they mull over their initial reactions, gush, nitpick, and also go over some aspects of the Legacy system. Then they get carried away talking about every nerdy thing possible, yet still find time to answer a LOT of your MERQ’s.

Get nerdy with the rest of the team at this episode’s forum thread. Oh, yeah, it’s right here.

I have been a beta Tester for some time and now I am able to express my opinion on the game. It is AWESOME in medium and high levels, but in the start it is a little bit bad. It also has a problem with the textures and in the beta testing weekend it was FULL and it turned into a boring game due to overpopulation. I think Bioware designed an awesome RPG, but for 1 player only, not MMORPG. There are also some more minor problems, like that when you talk with an NPC in a conversation every one else disapears. At last I must only say that I am buying the CE.

This weekend’s open beta was the first time I played and I enjoyed it alot, there was alot of complaining on the forums but I think they were mostly a really vocal minority I played a jedi consular to lvl 16 and it was sooo much fun. I don’t have great specs so I was running on medium settings and I was running fine with decent FPS I can see why some people are upset about the textures but to me it’s not that big of a deal. Tython was sort of small it felt like but I enjoyed the consular quest line, and when you leave tython the game just gets 10x more fun, Coruscant seems so big and I like that and it’s so awesome looking pretty much just going to Coruscant has sold me on the game, The only flashpoint I ran was the Esseless and it was so much fun… the most fun I have had in an MMO Instance nearly. The PvP was soo much fun aswell I’m not a big fan of the turret map, don’t remember what it’s called but the voidstar and hutt ball are really fun. I did not feel like the beta testing this weekend was overpopulated at all, on the shadowlands server there was never a que time and I played all weekend. all in all I felt like the game was a KOTOR game and that makes me very excited, Cant wait till launch!!

The mouse issue is not the game because I have had that issue on quite a few games FPS and MMO alike WoW Battlefield just to be a few.
