Question of the week

Hey guys. I was thinking about Star Wars and MMOs today and came to the conclusion that it’s probably one of the few combinations that can bring two totally different types of people to the game. Now what I mean by this is Star Wars has not only drawn the interest of many long time and hardcore MMO players but also has caught the attention of many Star Wars fans that have never played an MMO. That got me thinking more and I have forgotten that there are a handful of people who are looking forward to this game that really might not understand all the ins and outs of an MMO. Because of the huge success of many games in the past decade, MMORPGs are now almost in everyday casual conversations so it’s easy to forget this game will have a lot of first time MMO players. So I guess the question I want to ask this week is have you ever played and MMO before? If so how much experience (no pun intended) do you have?

My first MMO was SWG but after the NGE I moved onto Eve Online and then WoW. I’ve dabbled in free trials in other MMOs though, like CoHs and CoV, as well as LotRO and a couple of beta’s.

So I guess you can say if it wasn’t for Star Wars, I would have never gotten myself into playing MMOs and looks like my true love is Star Wars so I’m very excited to be able to play another SW MMO

WoW seemed to fulfill all of my needs and make me feel good about myself. And even though we took a few “breaks” to “see other people”, I always came back to her.

Now I just need a good analogy for SWTOR…

yeah, im an MMO vet. Ive played pretty much every MMO on the market for at the very least the free 30 provided with all of them. Most though Beta as well. Ive played quite a few Extensively as well, UO, eq/eq2, WoW, CoX, SWG, Ragnarok, LOTRO, AoC. I like MMOs i guess

My first MMO was SWG. I played that for probably a year or so. After I got sick of NGE, I played WoW on and off for like a year, and then I got serious about WoW for another year. I’ve tried several other MMOs including EVE, Tabula Rasa, and others.

I have only played SWG for MMO’s. I would say that I am a bigger Star Wars Fan, than an MMO fan. The only other one I concidered was Matrix Online, but never got around to it.
