I'm with Aon on this as well, although I wouldn't call it whining really. In the first episode each planet was compared to a specific area of WoW, which meant nothing to me (a non WoW-player) and this happened a lot throughout the episode.

I know WoW is huge, but a lot of people who play WoW aren't looking for a new MMO and many of them aren't even really gamers save WoW itself. I think its better to keep it fairly WoW-reference free.

Other than that though, the production quality is great so far and I think you guys are doing really well. Excited to see more.

Brooks and Zach,
This is cool and creative stuff. Good luck to both of you as you pursue this.

Thanks Aon!

I wouldn’t call it whining by any stretch of the imagination. As WoW is the 500 pound gorilla of the industry, it gets brought up and compared to quite a bit. Obviously this gets tiring after a certain point. However, I hope going forward we can move away from directly comparing SWTOR to WoW, and use it more as a reference point for players who may know nothing about KOTOR or the Star Wars universe.

I think we mentioned it in the show, but neither of us are looking for this game to be a WoW clone. For me, the slow grind, the endless nights of raiding, and the sheer number of hours it takes for WoW to be “enjoyable” far outweigh any desire to pay $15 a month. I love Blizzard, but in my eyes their product has lost what it had at release. On the other hand, with SWTOR’s emphasis on story, and the ability to essentially solo the entire game, I’m looking forward to playing an MMO once again.

Nice first episode, but I need to whine a little. Don't keep using WoW as an analogy. Everyone does that. It gets annoying even to those of us who like WoW. Differentiate your analogies and I think you'll have a much better show.
